About Us
Build a Better Austin is a joint effort by Workers Defense Project, construction workers, faith leaders, businesses, government officials, and workers’ rights organization to address deadly and dishonest working conditions in Austin’s construction industry.

We work to build an Austin where all Austinites have the opportunity to progress, live better, and contribute to our society and ensure continued economic prosperity in the construction industry that is so vital to Austin, Texas, and the country.

What we do
We bring a diverse group of stakeholders together to improve working conditions in Austin’s construction industry by looking at the key challenges facing construction workers and industry leaders. We work together to implement innovative strategies to improve working conditions, reward good business practices that invest in workforce development, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
